All because of a Griff
Ruby was Johns heart dog and of course she was a wirehaired pointing griffon. Dogs is a passion of both John and Sam. We knew that we wanted to raise dogs in the correct way and for the right reasons. The breeds we raise are truly as unique as each of us.
CANCER SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
In 2021 John was diagnosed with non-hodgekins lymphoma stage four. John had tumours all over his body his PET scan lit up like a Christmas tree. He had a large tumour in his chest and on his spine. Upon our first trip to Kelowna John was given six weeks to be able to walk and six months to live. That day we will remember for the rest of our lives, every detail and feeling. It stays frozen in time for us. Fighting with all we had was the only card on the table and we where throwing it down. The next few months John was in and out of the hospital for treatment and undergoing aggressive chemotherapy to try and reduce the size of the tumours. John flew back and forth to Kelowna for treatment and one of the huge blessings in our lives was the use of a local organization called Angel Flight. He was able to fly from Sparwood to Kelowna to get this life saving treatment. We live from one oncology appointment to another for months all the while preying hard that the extremely hard chemo was doing its job. Chemo stays John just slept, alot his body needed it. We looked at life very differently there was soo much crying and we looked at the world around us and both decided no WE WILL LIVE! WE WILL WIN! We looked at our dreams and said LETS GO! ITS GO TIME! He wanted to breed WPG so I said you got it, lets make sure we do it right and in the right away. I took a deep dive into ethical dog breeding and asked 4000000 questions and deep dove into pedigrees. I chose to import the lines we have today and build a program built upon hunting is a season, health, temperament, structure and work ethic would be the steering wheel of our program. We adore the working dog and are dedicated to the preservation of the working dog. We also believe we can make a difference.

Sam fell in love with Dutch Shepherds, German Shepherds, and ethical dog breeding painfully when She lost her beloved back yard bred Dalmatian, learning and seeing wonderful working dogs that where sound, beautiful and healthy left a huge impression on her. There are six GSD from that local dog club that seeing them work took her breath away. "That will be me some day" hard work beats talents when talent doesn't work hard. IGP is a demanding sport. Its level of hard is what drew Sam to it. She carried on building her Dutchies and slowly and quietly her love for the sports highest level grew. The goals got bigger and the craving for the best possible dog for the sport grew and grew. She fell inlove with the dogs at the world level and learned how to read and understand the pedigrees that made up those dogs. Studying hours a day would pay off. To this day Sam is proud of some of the strongest working pedigrees in Canada and is loving learning how to drive these fancy dogs around the trial field!
